President Donald Trump said that he wanted to release the report on Thomas Mattew Crooks next week when he was asked by Fox News’ Peter Doocy why, after 7 months, more is not known about the would-be assassin that shot Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania last July.

"I want to find the answers,” said Trump. “We can no longer blame Biden. He should have released that a long time ago. So what they are, giving me a report next week some time. I do believe I’ll be releasing it. I want to release the report,” Trump said.

“You had one who had three apps, two of which were foreign, supposedly, and who has the biggest white shoe law firm in Pennsylvania, even though they don’t live in a white shoe area. What’s that all about?” Trump added, referencing Ryan Routh, another would-be assassin.

“The other one had 7 or 6 cell phones, and I don’t have 6 cell phones. Why would somebody have.6 cell phones? We’re going to be releasing a report on that soon, Peter,” Trump said.

Trump met with FBI agents and law enforcement officials following the shooting. According to sources who spoke with ABC News, the meeting included previously undisclosed information about the shooter.

During the meeting, Trump asked about how the gunman managed to get onto the roof of a nearby building with an AR-15-style rifle. He also wanted to know if investigators had found any foreign ties to the attack.

FBI agents told Trump they had accessed three foreign email accounts linked to Crooks. The access was possible because Crooks' passwords were stored on his computer. However, investigators found no evidence that anyone else was involved in the attack. It is now believed that Crooks may have had an accomplice.

At a press conference the following Thursday, Trump confirmed that he had spoken with the FBI about Crooks but did not share further details. He only stated that the FBI has "done a very good job."

“I say, when you have three apps and two of them are foreign, you had an FBI that wouldn’t report on it or say why, I would say that that could be suspicious,” he continued. “On the second assassin… and by the way, secret service did a great job… but on the second one he had six cell phones. That’s a lot of cell phones, and a couple of them had some strange markings on them, so I want to find out and I’d be willing to release it. Maybe there’s a reason we shouldn’t… I would be very willing to release that. I want to see it myself.”
