President Donald Trump announced that he and Elon Musk will be going to Fort Knox. Trump said, "We're also going to Fort Knox. I'm going to go with Elon. Because we want to see if the gold is still there."

"Wouldn't it be terrible if we opened it up and there was no gold there, honey. So we're gonna open those doors. We're gonna take a look, and if there's 27 tons of gold, we'll be very happy," Trump added.

This comes as Musk as well as Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) have questioned whether or not the gold is still there.

Trump took to the stage at CPAC, introduced by Matthew and Mercedes Schlapp prior to his speech. His entrance, much like other speeches and events, was accompanied by "God Bless the USA," by Lee Greenwood.

At the beginning of his speech, Trump laid into government bureaucrats as well as left-wing activists: "For years, Washington was controlled by a sinister group of radical left Marxists, warmongers and corrupt special interest who drained our wealth, attacked our liberties, obliterated our borders and sucked our country dry, not any longer."

Trump said that his approval is now the "highest ever across all demographics." He then cited a YouGov poll that he said reported 70 percent of Americans believe he is keeping his promises for his second term.

The president showed appreciation for the many different GOP officials in his administration as well as international leaders and congressional representatives from national and local governments. He then listed off the different appointments to his cabinet and recognized them for their different accomplishments, including Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense, Tulsi Gabbard for Director of National Intelligence, Robert F Kennedy Jr for Director of Health and Human Services, and others.

"Together, we've achieved more in four weeks than most administrations achievement four years," Trump added. He also listed his accomplishments. "On day one, I ended catch and release. I reinstated Remain in Mexico when I signed an order that will end birthright citizenship for the children of illegal aliens." Trump said.

Trump said that Biden was the worst president in the US and made a joke that Jimmy Carter died a "happy man" since Biden should hold the title.

He later spoke about how he has implemented a freeze on spending: "I imposed an immediate federal hiring freeze, a federal regulation freeze, and a foreign aid for freeze." The president also spoke about Elon Musk's efforts of DOGE as well as fraud and waste in the government.
