"If the Radical Left Democrats don’t immediately sign an agreement to let our Country, in particular, our Airports, be FREE and SAFE again, I will move our brilliant and patriotic ICE Agents to the Airports where they will do Security like no one has ever seen before, including the immediate arrest of all Illegal Immigrants who have come into our Country, with heavy emphasis on those from Somalia, who have totally destroyed, with the approval of a corrupt Governor, Attorney General, and Congresswoman, Ilhan Omar, the once Great State of Minnesota," Trump said.
"I look forward to seeing ICE in action at our Airports. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" he added.
Although there has been a partial government shutdown at DHS as Senate Democrats, ICE is being backed up by funding that was made available to the agency through the One Big Beautiful Bill, which made the agency government shutdown proof for the time being.
Funding for DHS has been held up in the Senate, where there is a slim majority of GOP Senators that would vote in favor or it, but not the 60 votes to overcome the filibuster.
When Fox reporter Bill Melugin reached out to ICE agents about the proposal from Trump to work at the airports, reactions to the move were mixed.
One said they "love it" while another said "Ah f*ck." One agent also called the move "genius."
