Vance's CPAC address at CPAC follows his speech given last week at the the Munich Security Conference.
Vance told CPAC host Mercedes Schlapp, "The greatest threat in Europe — and I say it was the greatest threat in the United States, until about 30 days ago — is that you've had the leaders of the West decide that they should send millions and millions of unvetted foreign migrants into their countries. That is the biggest threat to Europe, and frankly, remains, by the way, the biggest threat to the United States."
He also pointed to the economic issues that are tied back to the border and immigration as well.
"So many of our issues come back to the border," Vance said, pointing out that deportation as well as keeping the border secure will help to alleviate many economic pressures going on in the US.
"If you get control of the border, you do more to control the fiscal problems, the financial problems, that we have in this country than almost anything."
Schlapp also made some short remarks before, and announced that Elon Musk will appear at the event.
Vance and Schlapp also spoke about the vice president's speech given last week at the Munich Security Conference, where he slammed Germany as well as other countries in the West for not abiding by the principles of free speech.
At the time, Vance gave multiple examples of citizens being prosecuted over free expression, one including a man who was arrested for praying outside an abortion clinic in the UK, where he did not impede anyone from entering.
"After British law enforcement spotted him and demanded to know what he was praying for, Adam replied simply, it was on behalf of the unborn son he and his former girlfriend had aborted years before. Now the officers were not moved. Adam was found guilty of breaking the government's new buffer zones law," Vance said.
He also emphasized at the time that one of the greatest threats facing western nations is the impact of mass immigration, as he did so in the CPAC speech. "Of all the pressing challenges that the nations represented here face, I believe there is nothing more urgent than mass migration today," Vance said at the time.
During the interview, the vice president also indicated that he was optimistic about the future of the Russia-Ukraine war.
"I really believe that we're on the cusp of peace in Europe for the first time in three years because we have leadership from the Oval Office, and we haven't had it in four years in this country," Vance told Schlapp in the interview.
