Vice President JD Vance spoke to leaders in Munich, Germany, on Friday at the security conference. Vance said that the most pressing threat against Europe is the issue of mass migration. This has been an issue across the continent as nations have been inundated with migrants from the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Vance also encouraged leaders to listen to their citizens and uphold free speech

"Of all the pressing challenges that the nations represented here face, I believe there is nothing more urgent than mass migration today," Vance said, just one day after an Afghan asylum seeker plowed his car into a crowd in Munich, injuring 28, including children. And this is far from the first incident of this type to strike Germany.

He added that one in five people in Germany are foriegn nationals and that a similar rate exists in the United States. The Biden administation allowed for soft border policies to allow millions of illegal immigrants into the US and Vance, along with President Donald Trump, ran a campaign on promises of mass deportations and putting America first.

"The number of immigrants who entered the EU from non-EU countries doubled between 2021 and 2022 alone. And of course, it's gotten much higher since. And we know the situation. It didn't materialize in a vacuum. It's a result of a series of conscious decisions made by politicians all over the continent and others across the world over the span of a decade," Vance added.

Vance offered prayers for those who were injured when the foreign national from Afghanistan drove into a crowd and said that the man was already known to police. The crime is being treated as an attempted murder case.

"No voter on this continent went to the ballot box to open the floodgates to millions of unvetted immigrants. But you know what they did vote for? In England, they voted for Brexit, and agree or disagree, they voted for it," Vance added.

In a number of countries, more and more European citizens have been voting in favor of curbing mass migration, but in many instances, these concerns have been dismissed as racist by left-wing political pundits.

Vance upheld the concerns of the many Europeans citizens who have spoken out against mass migration and the depletion of Western values in their own nations. "I happen to agree with a lot of these concerns, but you don't have to agree with me. I just think that people care about their homes, they care about their dreams, they care about their safety and their capacity to provide for themselves and their children."
