BREAKING: Would-be Trump assassin Ryan Routh guilty on all charges, tries to stab himself in neck when verdict read

Ryan Routh has been found guilty on all charges in the assassination attempt of President Donald Trump. The decision was reached after two and a half hours of deliberation by a Florida jury. As the verdict was being read, Routh attempted to stab himself in the neck with a pen. 

Fox News reported that when the verdict was being read, Routh attempted to stab himself in the neck with a pen. The assassination attempt took place when Trump was out golfing in Florida last September, only a few weeks after a bullet had hit his ear when he was speaking to a crowd in Butler, Pennsylvania.

According to NBC News, Routh is facing life in prison when he is sentenced. The trial had lasted for around two weeks under the direction of US District Judge Aileen Cannon. Routh served as his own attorney in the case and delivered a closing argument claiming that there was no crime committed because he never fired a shot. 

Routh was found guilty of attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, and assaulting a federal officer.

After Routh was found guilty, his daughter sprinted away from the media that was present, and yelled, "Get the f*ck out of my face." 

Routh was arrested after he was pointing a rifle at Trump as he was on the edge of Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach when Secret Service spotted him and fired at the suspect. He was able to get to a vehicle but was later detained after being tracked down by law enforcement.  

Routh had pleaded not guilty to the charges and in leading up to the trial, had suggested the Trump and him should play a round of golf to determine his fate in the trial. He wrote in a court filing, "We must beat down crime in Amereica [sic]. Carpet is red, isn't it, no harm in blood," Routh continued. "If I am housed at Fort Lucie can it be in a far off, quiet room and can I have access to documents, phone, visitation, email, and maybe a computer and printer, or a fancy typewriter like this one; some female strippers would be great too(model parent): OR perhaps a putting green so I can work on my putting(a golf joke). A round of golf with the racist pig, he wins he can execute me, I win I get his job. (sorry hillbilly Vance)."
