In another stunning display of government incompetence, Trudeau's Department of Industry has said that Canadian-made medical masks will not be ready in time for an anticipated second wave of coronavirus infections.

Medical masks that have been made in Canada were initially promised "within weeks" by the Trudeau government, according to Blacklock's Reporter. Now, Liberal officials have said that "the work is not done."

"The time frame for delivery of this product is very critical to us," continued the government official. "The market demand for personal protective equipment, for example, is extending to the private sector as it returns to business."

As a result of the government's failure to manufacture much-needed masks, Canada will almost certainly have to purchase marked-up Chinese medical masks—noted for their decrepit quality.

The Trudeau government gave the mask manufacturing contract to a Quebec-based company called AMD Medicom Inc. who does not expect to produce masks until August.

The second wave of coronavirus infections is expected to come long before this. It is unclear whether the recent anti-racism protests will exaggerate the viciousness of the infection rate.

An irritated Conservative MP told the Trudeau government that this "is the first we’re hearing that the N95s are going to be way down the road. Until the end of the year, if that."

Since the pandemic began, Canada has ordered 107 million medical masks from Chinese suppliers. This has provoked Ontario Premier Doug Ford to demand more self-reliance when it comes to vital supply chains.
