China's ambassador to Canada made a teary-eyed plea to Canadians yesterday, telling the nation that the pandemic was not China's fault, according to Blacklock's Reporter.

He also took time to caution Canadians about xenophobia, saying that “China is prepared to deliver aid to Canada."

Indeed, Canada has been one of the targets of China's "mask diplomacy," however the aid that was delivered across the Pacific turned out to be entirely useless and of poor quality.

The Chinese ambassador is quite right to suggest that coronavirus existing is not the fault of the Chinese regime—however, the imprisoning of early whistleblowers and their attempts to fabricate data have almost certainly cost Canadian lives.

Despite this, the ambassador ploughed on: "Some people accuse China of concealing information about the outbreak and making data opaque," he said. "Such claims are groundless."

Paradoxically enough, the ambassador's claim that China didn't conceal or fabricate data is also, it turns out, entirely groundless. Earlier this month, U.S. intelligence reported that concealed the extent of the coronavirus outbreak in their country.

"A handful of politicians in some countries insisted on calling the novel coronavirus ‘Chinese virus’ and ‘Wuhan virus’ for ulterior motives, to which the Chinese side is firmly opposed," the ambassador continued.

"The source of novel coronavirus is a complex scientific issue which should rely on professional views from the science community."

Again, there is a strong scientific consensus behind the fact that coronavirus did originate in Wuhan, China. Nevertheless, the Chinese regime has shrugged this off, even accusing the U.S. of creating the disease.

"Stigmatization cannot stop the spread of the virus but will only aggravate racial discrimination, xenophobia, and even lead to violent crime," said the ambassador.

The ambassador ended with a rather strange warning: "this ‘political virus’ is just as harmful as the novel coronavirus." We'll see about that.
