A Canadian woman has been taken into ICE custody after allegedly assaulting a teenager who was wearing Trump-branded sweatpants on the Jersey Shore over the July 4th weekend.

33-year-old Kaitlyn Tracy allegedly recorded herself, confronting a group of teenage girls on the Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk on July 3 after noticing that two of them were wearing sweatpants displaying the words “Trump” and “ICE,” according to police. Tracey allegedly struck one of the girls in the face and body.

Police later obtained an arrest warrant for Tracy. On Monday, she was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, simple assault, harassment, and obstruction, according to the New York Post

Tracy entered the US with a passport in 2024 and had been living in Asbury Park with her American husband. In a post on social media, her husband, Matthew Geroni, said that his wife was detained by ICE and taken to Delaney Hall Immigration Center in Newark.

“Yesterday, July 13, my wife was detained by ICE and brought to Delaney Hall in Newark, NJ,” Geroni said on TikTok. “My main goal is the safety and well-being of my wife, and that is about it.”

Geroni has a history of posting videos mocking republicans on social media. Despite not mentioning the alleged assault carried out by his wife that led to her arrest, he created a GoFundMe for legal expenses. However, he had to take the fundraiser down after it was mass-reported by what he claims was a “Facebook group of MAGA supporters.”

Tracy is set to appear in court on August 4.
