At a gas station in Manchester, Connecticut, a teenager stole a car without noticing a 9-year-old girl sleeping in the back seat.

The incident occurred around 9:30pm on Thursday night, when the car was stolen from the Shell station on Hartford Rd.

According to NBC Connecticut, the girl's mother immediately called police, telling them that her daughter was still in the car.

The police report stated that the teenager stealing the car became aware of the girl's presence when she woke up, saw that a stranger was driving and started crying.

He then pulled the vehicle over, and got picked up in another vehicle, leaving the girl in the car alone. The girl then ran back to the Shell station as quickly as she could.

Police arrived to see the girl back in her mother's custody, safe and sound. Nobody was injured during the incident.

The investigation is ongoing, as the suspect is still at large.

Police are looking for a gray four-door sedan allegedly involved in the theft of the car, and the teenage suspect in question, who was wearing gray shorts, a navy blue shirt and a black mask.
