Host of The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne Tha God, questioned on Friday whether the Democratic Party truly believes that President-elect Donald Trump is a “threat to democracy” or a “fascist,” pointing to the change in rhetoric immediately after his election victory.

“Don’t y’all find it strange that now that he’s won, they’re not calling him a threat to democracy? They’re not calling him a fascist,” Charlamagne asked.

“I would think that, if you really believe that, then somebody’s speech would be about how America effed up and how things are about to be really bad,” he continued. “It just makes you wonder how much of it did they really believe, or how much of it was just politics."

Prior to the election, Vice President Kamala Harris compared the former president to Adolf Hitler in her remarks, and several high-profile Democratic figures repeatedly labeled Trump a “fascist,” warning that another term would endanger American democracy.

Following Trump’s decisive Electoral College victory, however, the Democratic Party’s tone shifted. In her concession speech, Harris urged her supporters to accept the results despite experiencing a “range of emotions.”

“The outcome of this election is not what we wanted, not what we fought for, but hear me when I say: the light of America’s promise will always burn bright,” Harris said.

President Biden echoed this sentiment, commenting on the election results by saying, “We accept the choice the country made.”

"I've said many times, you can't love your country only when you win. You can't love your neighbor only when you agree” Biden remarked, adding that, "Something I hope we can do no matter who you voted for is see each other not as adversaries, but as fellow Americans.”
