"We may also file our own lawsuit on viewpoint discrimination. Stay tuned," Kirk wrote.

Following a scheduled appearance of Kyle Rittenhouse at a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) chapter event at the University of Memphis on Wednesday evening that resulted in Black Lives Matter swarming the event, TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk said on Thursday he would be asking Tennessee lawmakers to investigate whether "the University of Memphis colluded with local protesters to sabotage" the event.

"I will be asking TN lawmakers to investigate if the University of Memphis colluded with local protesters to sabotage last night's TPUSA event with Kyle Rittenhouse. We may also file our own lawsuit on viewpoint discrimination. Stay tuned," Kirk wrote.

BLM protestors chanted derogatory remarks about Rittenhouse, including "Kyle is a killer," and later taped the names of the men involved in Rittenhouse's self-defense case on the seats inside the venue.

Officials with the school reportedly did nothing to stop their actions. The protestors also doxxed the phone number and address of the university's TPUSA chapter president on social media.

On The Charlie Kirk Show Thursday, Kirk said "we very well might file a lawsuit and we might file a lawsuit on technical grounds."

"The way that campus speech is supposed to be administered is from viewpoint neutrality. The taxpayer-funded universities, especially state universities, they are not allowed to say we, you know, we really don't like Kyle Rittenhouse, we don't like Turning Point. We're gonna go help BLM to compromise the ticketing system and give them a leg up. It’s not legal."

The Wednesday night event had been approved by the university since mid-February, but in the days leading up to the event, university officials informed the TPUSA chapter that their ticketing methods were “not fair and equitable.”

The Turning Point chapter president met with the school and agreed to post a new ticketing link for the event, which once live was quickly spread by the protestors.

“The University of Memphis has taken unprecedented actions to undermine our event. Seizing control of seating arrangements and the ticketing system —on the day of the event— has never happened in our many years of campus organizing. Despite being promised control over 50 seats, we’re now restricted to just a single row of 8 seats. This abrupt change will result in hundreds of disappointed students whose tickets will no longer grant them entrance into the venue.” said TPUSA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet.

"I think the university thought they could get away with it but more importantly, they are terrified of these students. They're terrified of the activists on campus," Kirk said on Thursday.

Kirk recounted speaking to Board of Regents or Board of Supervisor members, asking them why they "don’t just stand up to these couple dozen, maybe 100 students out of the 20,000 on campus."

"They say, 'oh, you know, well they’re very powerful.' Like, no, actually no, they’re not, you make them powerful. These are very weak and loud people that you make powerful through the power that you give them."

Kirk added that Rittenhouse is seen as "the one that got away" to these protest groups. "They wanted to make a show trial out of Kyle Rittenhouse. They wanted to turn him into teenage Derek Chauvin."
