Trudeau's Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland has made the Forbes list of the 100 most powerful women in the world.

Freeland also serves as Canada's finance minister and is widely expected to take over the reins of the Liberal Party when Justin Trudeau resigns from politics.

Forbes gave a brief overview of Freeland's career, where she started as a journalist for both the Financial Times and Reuters. It also detailed Freeland's extensive responsibilities within the Trudeau government.

Freeland became a member of parliament in 2013 in a Toronto riding of University—Rosedale.

Freeland placed 97th on the list and is the only Canadian to be named. The highest-ranking politician on the list was the US Vice President Kamala Harris.

The most powerful woman, according to Forbes, is Jeff Bezos' ex-wife Mackenzie Scott, who after their divorce, became the 21st richest person in the world.

The Queen also made the list. She was placed at 70th overall. Over the past few years, the Queen has slowly delegated more of her responsibilities to her son and heir Prince Charles.

Singer Taylor Swift placed 78th on the list. She was the youngest individual to have made this power ranking.
