It is estimated that 100,000 pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel protesters were anticipated in Chicago this week to make their grievances about the Israel-Hamas war known. Some of the protests have already turned violent, with agitators attempting to tear down the barrier around the outside of the DNC.
The fencing was breached on Monday, with mobs of agitators going into the boundaries of the DNC. They broke down a portion of the wall in order to gain entry and clashed with police officers at the event.
At least 13 people were arrested during Monday's protest. In addition, bomb threats for at least four hotels were reported. On the DNC floor on Tuesday, women also started screaming, "Stop killing women in Gaza" in order to voice their opposition to the Israel-Hamas war.
Protesters were ordered to disperse from the area and some political figures are reportedly not using their real names to book their hotels in order to evade the protesters descending on the DNC. The DNC events will last through Thursday, and more protests are expected.
