"Slash the tires, empty gas tanks, arrest the drivers, and move the trucks."

A Harvard professor and a former undersecretary for the Obama administration expressed her disdain for the working class rising up in revolt against the establishment.

However, her suggestions of how to end the Canadian trucker convoy protests would likely prolong it, if followed to the letter.

Kayyem claims the Canadian trucker convoy protest has escalated, given the recent blockade on key border locations. "The Ambassador Bridge link constitutes 28% of annual trade movement between US and Canada. Slash the tires, empty gas tanks, arrest the drivers, and move the trucks," she suggested.

The CNN commentator tweeted further suggestions that entail blacklisting truckers from working or even operating a motor vehicle ever again.

"Just don’t close an international border with your whining. So many emotions with you guys. It’s not personal," she said in response to backlash.

Many reactions to Kayyem’s suggestions are in essence as follows: "Fun fact: a fully loaded semi truck can weigh 80,000 pounds, and can be hard to move when its wheels don't roll & its engine doesn't run."

At the start of the George Floyd riots of Summer 2020, Juliette Kayyem supported the protests that began in May of that year.

Another CNN personality on Thursday expressed worries that the freedom convoy protest has "inspired others around the globe." The US Department of Homeland Security recently put out a notice that they’re worried American demonstrations like what the trucker convoy have done could begin as early as Super Bowl Sunday.

It was yesterday that Ontario’s premier Doug Ford described it as an "illegal occupation and blockade" of Ambassador Bridge when describing the actions of protesters.

Now within the past few hours, the Ontario government under Ford’s direction froze the Freedom Convoy funds altogether. This entails a more blanket ban on crowdfunding, a step beyond the actions taken by GoFundMe at the Ottawa mayor’s request, previously.

The situation as it stands has Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claiming the country is more unified than ever, while MPs like Pierre Poilievre blame him as directly responsible for "this mess" they're in.
