On Monday, a member of the feminist pro-Palestinian group Code Pink disrupted a Senate hearing in which lawmakers were discussing global threats, calling for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

The activist was promptly escorted out of the hearing and detained by United States Capitol Police.

Footage of the incident shows the woman standing up in the middle of someone's speech to shout, "Stop arming Israel!"

"Stop sending weapons to Israel!" she continued, calling the Jewish state "exactly the threat you are describing."

The woman went on to accuse Israel of "blocking humanitarian aid," and committing war crimes," screaming, "You need a ceasefire now!" while being hauled away by officers.

"I was just in a war hearing," she told the camera-person. "They call it national security but Israel is the biggest threat to global security there is right now. They're committing a genocide against the Palestinian people."

She accused President Joe Biden of having "approved over 100 illegal arms sales since the beginning of this war," and claimed the United States has "sent thousands of illegal direct ammunitions that are killing Palestinians."

"So I'm getting arrested for this," she added, "when really all of the war criminals are there in that room continuing to say lies. When the American public has their phones, they know what's going on, they know this government is responsible for the atrocities that are now going to potentially kill hundreds of thousands of people."

The hearing was attended by Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines, Central Intelligence Agency Director Bill Burns, and Federal Bureau of Investigations Director Christopher Wray, and touched on a number of issues facing the nation at home and abroad.

This is a breaking story. Check back for updates.
