Notorious former quarterback Colin Kaepernick has tried yet again to make a return to the NFL, this time with the New York Jets. His agent contacted the club after star QB Aaron Rodgers suffered a season-ending injury on Monday, however they were reportedly not interested.

Kaepernick, whose off-the-field antics garnered more attention than his plays, hasn't thrown a pass in the NFL since 2016. Since then, he has repeatedly bashed the league and its practices, even going so far as to compare certain aspects to slavery.

During the Jets' opening game, Rodgers tore his Achilles tendon. When the news broke, many began speculating as to who would replace the four-time MVP, and before too long Kaepernick's name was thrown into the mix.

"There's a QB right there in New Jersey who took a team to a Super Bowl and a NFC championship game. Rhymes with Happernick," Jemele Hill posted on X.

"His last tryout rhymes with fisaster," another user replied, pointing out that the former QB was not ready for a return to the big leagues.

Many were quick to slam Kaepernick, posting clips from a Netflix special he starred in condemning the league.

"So he's asking to return to the same 'plantation' where he toiled for years before being manumitted?" Delano Squires asked. "I've never seen an abolitionist who hated his freedom this much."

In the documentary, Kaepernick makes his way through an NFL combine, which then transitions into a slave auction from America's past.

"What's being established is a power dynamic," he said. "Before they put you on the field, teams poke, prod, and examine you, searching for any defect that may affect your performance; no boundary respected, no dignity left intact."

On Wednesday, NFL insider Josina Anderson reported that the Jets were "not pursuing" Kaepernick, explaining that they had chosen to go for a QB who "fits the chemistry of Zach Wilson" and "knows system &/or staff."
