Democrat Connecticut State Rep. Corey Paris on Friday warned constituents that there was Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity in his district. Paris represents the 145th District in the Connecticut state House, which covers the Waterside and West Side neighborhoods of Stamford, CT.

"This morning, I was made aware of multiple reports of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity within our district. While we are still working to verify the full scope of these reports, I urge all residents to remain vigilant, stay aware of your surroundings, and, above all, prioritize your safety," Paris wrote on his Instagram story Friday afternoon.

"Please look out for one another, check in with neighbors who may be concerned, and seek out trusted legal and community resources if needed. If you have information about ICE activity, share it with local advocacy organizations who can respond quickly and appropriately. Our community is strongest when we remain informed, united, and committed to protecting the dignity and safety of all who call it home."

This comes as ICE agents are facing a reported 1,000 percent increase in assaults against them as they carry out immigration enforcement operations around the country.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said earlier in August, "Our brave ICE law enforcement are now facing a 1000% increase in assaults against them as they risk their lives to arrest the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens. These acts of violence are fueled by sanctuary politicians' rhetoric vilifying our law enforcement."

"We will not and have not let this violence stop us or slow us down. Everyday our law enforcement continues to enforce the law and arrest the most depraved criminals including pedophiles, terrorists, murderers, gang members, and sexual predators."
