Conservative action group Elect Conservatives announced their endorsement of Dr. Leslyn Lewis for Conservative Party leader.
"Throughout the leadership campaign, Dr. Lewis has championed a movement inclusive of minorities and youth, unabashedly conservative, providing for a vision of Canada founded on positive change," Elect Conservatives said in a statement released on Tuesday.
"With even her competitors seeming like they would prefer Lewis over anyone else, it’s quite clear who can sidestep this dispute, first uniting the conservative movement and then expanding it to ensure victory.
It’s time for Dr. Leslyn Lewis to lead our party," the statement concludes.
Dr. Lewis is a Toronto-based lawyer who immigrated to Canada from Jamaica when she was a child. She boasts an impressive resume, having a Master’s in environmental studies, and a Ph.D from Osgoode Law School.
"What’s most interesting about her is not her professional and educational credentials, no matter how impressive they are. It’s how Lewis is uniquely placed to move Canada’s public discourse significantly to the right." wrote Keiden Formosa for The Post Millennial.
