Conservative MP and Finance Critic Pierre Poilievre started a petition to stop “The Great Reset”, something which Trudeau touted to the UN while speaking about the political opportunities that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought.
In a video posted to Facebook, Poilievre said that “Trudeau says COVID is his big "chance" to impose his "reimagined" society. Is he trying to shut down Finance Committee to cover up just the WE scandal or also to block scrutiny of the 'reset?'"
Poilievre went on to describe “The Great Reset” as socialist, adding that “global financial elites have called for the same 'Great Reset', which would reengineer economies and societies to empower the elites at the expense of the people;”
He also said “Canadians must fight back against global elites preying on the fears and desperation of people to impose their power grab.” The petition calls on the Trudeau government to “end plans to impose the "Great Reset", focus instead on protecting the lives and livelihoods of hardworking people, & protect our freedom.”
