Kristen Clarke, President Biden's nominee to lead the Justice Department's civil rights division, has received a letter of endorsement from 16 controversial left-wing prosecutors.

The letter, which was released ahead of her upcoming confirmation hearing, begins by saying that the 16 signatories are "a group of progressive prosecutors". They go on to state that "if confirmed, [Clarke] would be the first black woman to lead the office", and that "at this crucial time for our country, there is no better person to take on this role."

Clarke's prior achievements are listed, including her work on voting rights, police brutality, human trafficking, and inequity in the war on drugs.

The Harvard graduate raised eyebrows after it was reported that as a student, she made claims in a paper that Black genetics were superior to White genetics. According to Newsweek, the statements she made were pushed by Tucker Carlson as proof that Clarke believed Black people were superior. In reality, Clarke's statements were in response to Charles Murray's The Bell Curve.  Clarke had been trying to expose how "racist opinions of white Harvard 'scholars' are publicly debated while racist opinions of Black 'scholars' are categorically rejected".

Included among them are Chesa Boudin, Kim Foxx, and George Gascon. According to the Daily Caller, Boudin, from San Francisco, and Gascon, from Los Angeles, have both been ridiculed by critics who say "their policies are responsible for spikes in crime in their cities". Foxx is perhaps best known for dropping charges on Jussie Smollett, the actor who staged a hate crime against himself.

Clarke, who would lead federal investigations into hate crimes and racial discrimination if confirmed, supported Foxx's decision, and also claimed that the appointment of a special prosecutor to oversee Foxx's handling of the case was "racially motivated", reports the Daily Caller.
