Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) gave a speech in New Jersey on Sunday which was disrupted by protestors who yelled for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war. Israel declared war on Hamas after the Palestinian terror group attacked on Oct. 7.

"And what a call out to everybody right now these final hours," Booker said shortly before the chanting began. "This is what's on the ballot. We should know in New Jersey how privileged we are. There are so many places in our country right now, where people want to make sure that we have..."

It was at this moment when audible chants of "ceasefire now," rang out repeatedly from the crowd. Some of the protestors could be observed wearing white gloves that appeared to be stained with a blood-colored substance.

Booker initially reacted by saying, "This is what makes America great: The power to protest, the power to have free speech, the power of America."

As the chants continued, the audio system began blasting the song "We Are Family.".

The New Jersey senator also began chanting himself, repeatedly yelling, "Column A, all the way!"

This exchange comes amid a massive conflict between Israel and Gaza. A group of Hamas terrorists invaded the Jewish state on Oct. 7 and reportedly killed at least 1,400 Israelis, many of whom were civilians.

Israel has since blocked internet and most electricity from Gaza, and has discussed bringing its current offensive on the area to a full ground invasion, the Associated Press reports.

Hamas currently holds around 250 Israelis who have been taken hostage, and Israel has said a cease-fire will be out of the question until they are also allowed to return home, according to The Hill

Booker himself was in Israel when Hamas launched its Oct. 7 surprise attack and said that he was "shaken" by what had transpired.
