CREEPY JOE: Biden asks 6-year-old girl if she's 17, says 'I love your ears'

On Sunday, Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, took part in a Thanksgiving event providing food and entertainment to over 400 members of the United States Navy and their families in Virginia.

At one point in the evening, the president approached a young girl and proceeded to complement her ears before asking how old she was.

"I love your ears," he told the girl from two meters away before walking up to her. "I love 'em; they're really cool!"

He went on to ask her name, which she revealed was Catherine.

"What a beautiful name," Biden replied. "That's my mommy's name. How old are you, 17?"

Catherine informed the president that she was actually 6-years-old.

One of the highlights of the night was a pre-screening of the soon-to-be released film Wonka, which tells the story of Roald Dahl's beloved character's early life. 

"I like kids better than people," Biden told the packed auditorium at Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads. "I wish I could stay and watch Wonka with you, but I'm not gonna get to do that."

While the Bidens were unable to watch the film, they did take part in the serving of dinner.

As the Associated Press reports, the president and first lady helped scoop out mashed potatoes and sweet potato casserole to attendees, talking with everyone as they made their way through the buffet line.

"You literally are the backbone, the spine, the spine of this nation," Biden told the service members from the USS Dwight Eisenhower and USS Gerald R Ford. "Only 1 percent of you, that's all that protects the 99 percent of us."

"I mean from the bottom of my heart, family members, you are the heart of this operation," he added, before pointing out that he was serving dressing as well and saying, "If you don’t like dressing, just come up and pretend you do and say hi to me."
