Verity Beck, 43, faces charges of first and third-degree murder for the killing of 73-year-old Reid Beck and 72-year-old Miriam Beck, and is currently being held without bail.
According to 6ABC, the murders are believed to have taken place on January 7, however, it was not until Tuesday, over a week later, that police were finally called to the Beck home, where Verity lived with her parents, in Jenkinstown and discovered the bodies.
Verity's brother made the call to law enforcement after visiting the home and seeing what appeared to be a body under a sheet. She pleaded with him that she needed "more time," but he dialed 911 as soon as he returned to his house that night.
For a week prior, he had been texting who he believed to be his parents, but in reality, it was Verity using their phones.
"Their voices were last heard by a family member on the 7th of January," Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele explained during a press conference, "so we believe that they may have been decomposing during that time.
"Verity used this chainsaw and put parts of her parents into trash bags and had covered them up," Steele explained. "They were actually in two different trash cans."
As 6ABC reports, multiple firearms were discovered in the home, and a large safe was found to have drill marks on it, suggesting someone attempted to break in.A motive for the killings has not yet been determined.
