A Wisconsin mother is accused of fatally stabbing her teenage daughter while under the influence of drugs, telling authorities she believed she was protecting the girl from billionaire Elon Musk.

Tyiece Oninski confessed to the killing on March 20 when she contacted authorities to notify them she had stabbed her 14-year-old daughter, Kuren Rein, to death the night before. According to a criminal complaint, Oninski also attempted suicide after the attack.

During the call, Oninski told authorities she killed her daughter to "protect her from somebody else," later claiming she was protecting her from Musk. When asked if she needed an ambulance, she responded, "She’s dead, honey. She needs a hearse.”

When law enforcement arrived at the home, they found the teenager dead from multiple stab wounds and a knife and sheath nearby. Oninski had cuts on her neck and wrists from a suicide attempt as well, and a partial bare footprint was found in the home as Oninski’s left foot was stained with blood.

Oninski was taken to the hospital, where she tested positive for benzodiazepines, amphetamines, and THC in her system. While at the hospital, she asked a deputy if her name was on the news and was disappointed when told it was not, according to a report by Fox News.

Following the killing, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support the victim’s family, raising more than $17,000. The fundraiser stated, “We are coming together to support a young man who has just lost his sister in a devastating and unthinkable way at the hands of their own mother.”

"No one should have to face something like this, especially at such a young age. As he navigates this overwhelming grief, we want to ease the burden of funeral expenses so he can focus on healing and remembering his sister,” it continued. "She was loved deeply and will be missed beyond measure. Her life mattered, and she deserves to be honored with dignity and care.”
