Four individuals were arrested in Denver last week on suspicion of a pulling-off a potential "Las Vegas-style mass shooting" after a housekeeper alerted authorities after finding more than a dozen weapons and hundreds of rounds of ammo in one of the hotel rooms near Coors Field on Friday night.

According to Denver 7, police recovered 16 firearms, body armor and hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and arrested a suspect, after executing a search warrant based on the information provided by the housekeeper inside a room on the eighth floor of the Maven Hotel as MLB All-Star celebrations got underway.

Police said that suspicion continued to arise after hotel managers informed them that one of the suspects, Ricardo Rodriguez, asked to be moved to a room with a balcony that overlooked an alleyway and requested to extend his stay.

Denver police initially feared that the number of firearms, ammunition, and vantage point could have resulted in a "Las Vegas-style shooting", Denver 7 reports.

"It should be noted that this information was concerning to officers due to the location of the rifle, ballistic vest, duty belt and requesting a room with a balcony coupled with the fact that the 2021 Major League Baseball All-star Game events happening in the immediate area of the hotel," the police statement said. "There is a propensity for mass casualty incidents in scenarios such as the above, where many people are gathered together in a small area for a single event."

One of the suspects arrested Friday allegedly posted a message on Facebook saying he was going to “go out in a big way” after a recent divorce, according to Denver 7.

The four suspects arrested at the Maven Hotel on Friday night include Richard Platt (42), Gabriel Rodriguez (48), Ricardo Rodriguez (44), and Kanoelehua Serikawa (43). According to Denver PD, the three men were taken into custody as part of an investigation into allegations of possession of a weapon by a previous offender while Serikawa is being held on charges that include possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute.

"The specific allegations… are highly, highly concerning to this court," Denver County Court Judge Tanja Wheeler said, the Denver Post reported. "The presence of a high, high number of weapons and ammunition and in a heavily populated part of the city, in particular."

According to Denver PD, the FBI said Sunday that there was no indication the four posed a threat or were connected with terrorism.

Ricardo Rodriguez said in a jailhouse interview with CBS Denver that he designs guns and donates them to military veterans and was unaware of any plans for a mass shooting.

Rodriguez, Platt and Serikawa were given $50,000 cash-only bonds while Ricardo Rodriguez was given a $75,000 cash-only bond.
