Upon being confronted about the state of his campaign via a question from Fox News host Harris Faulkner, GOP presidential candidate and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis dismissed the concerns, insisting that no other person in the race "has had as much political sets success as me."

Faulkner's question regarded remarks made by Republican strategist Ed Rollins, who said of DeSantis: "I think he's been a very flawed candidate. Every time he opens his mouth, he has a tendency to think out loud and He clearly doesn't understand the game."

In response, DeSantis said, "Well, look, I mean, I don't think anyone's running on our side that said as much political success as me you know, we won big elections throughout my career, including the best Republican governor victory in the history of the state of Florida, where we're winning women by almost double digits. We're winning Miami Dade County by double digits, winning over 60 percent of Hispanics and winning independence by 18 percent. So we've got a record of success."

Recent poll results surrounding the 2024 Republican primary have largely spelled bad news for the DeSantis campaign. The Florida governor was topped by not only former President Trump, but also Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy in a poll conducted July 17-26 by the Ohio Northern University Institute for Civics and Public Policy, and fell 37 points behind Trump in a recent Times/Siena poll.
