A Detroit police officer was caught on video driving into a group of Black Lives Matter protestors on Sunday night, reports TMZ.

The incident took place in Southwest Detroit and involved protestors who were reportedly met with police on their way to Patton Park where the protest started earlier that day.

Video of the incident shows chanting protestors attempting to block the vehicle until the officer creeps forward, eventually stepping on the gas and running into them. The SUV can be seen driving away while a passenger is still on the hood.

Up to 10 people received treatment from medics after the incident occurred. The incident is now under investigation by the Detroit PD.

When speaking to the Detroit Free Press, one protestor who claims to have been in the group of people hit by the SUV said the officer, "ran over a couple people's arms, feet. He ran over her phone. I think I was the last person on the car. I was just holding onto the car. I could feel him speeding up and then he did one of these [motions] and he flinged me off the car."
