Workers at Disney are planning to stage walkouts protesting what they call the "apathy" of Disney CEO Bob Chapek regarding the state's new parental rights and anti-grooming legislation.

Groups of workers at the massive theme parks has put up their own website, which opens up with the statement: "The Walt Disney Company’s (TWDC) LGBTQIA+ community and their allies are determined to take a stand against TWDC’s apathy in the face of the bigoted 'Don’t Say Gay or Trans' bill put forth by the FL state legislature."

The group's website goes on to state that sporadic walkouts are planned to last through Monday, and then "on Tuesday March 22nd, we will engage in a full-stage walkout."

The group's demands are firstly for the Walt Disney Corporation to stop donating to politicians involved "in the creation or passage" of the bill, all of them Republicans.

Furthermore, they want Chapek to detail a plan in public which "protects employees from hateful legislation," and to not construct in or invest any money in the state of Florida "until hateful legislation is repealed."

Chapek on Mar 9 had publicly spoken out against the new law, and went as far as to request a meeting with Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on the subject.

Recently, a massive-scale sting operation in the area has netted 108 arrests for soliciting prostitution, in many cases with minors. Four of those caught, arrested and charged in the sting are employees of Disney.
