Outside the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse on Tuesday, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene joined the New York Young Republicans Club to protest of the indictment of former President Donald Trump, who is set to be arraigned later today.
Addressing the crowd as police officers push back protestors and media members crowding the stage, Greene told the crowd she came to New York City to "peacefully protest against the persecution of an innocent man."
Some protestors called her a "fascist," but she was undaunted, as seen in footage from Meech Memez. He's "not just any man," she said, "this is the former President of the United States of America. And the government has been weaponized against him."
"I’m here to protest and use my voice to take a stand. Every American should take a stand. This is what happens in the Communist countries, not the United States of America. We have to take a stand against the injustice, the corruption, and the Communist Democrats."
"Donald J. Trump is innocent," Greene proclaimed as protestors in the crowd continued to shout at her and blow whistles in attempts to drown her out.
One left-wing activist told Turning Point USA contributor Savanah Hernandez that he brought whistles to hand out to the crowd to "drown her out."
Greene took aim at New York City mayor Eric Adams, who on Monday issued a statement accusing the Congresswoman of "hate speech," saying, "also, to Mayor Adams, as you can see, I’m standing here peacefully protesting, but you called me out by name."
"While you allow crime in your streets and you send your henchmen down here to commit assault against people by making loud noises, assault against police officers who are doing their jobs trying to keep everyone civil and keep peace… Democrats are the party of violence."
Greene noted that Democrats "cheered" on the 2020 riots and "allowed cities to be burned," adding that the Republican party is the party of "peace."
"We’re the party that wants to protect the lives of the unborn. We’re the party of male and female, two genders only. We’re the party of secure borders. We’re the party that will bring peace to the world like President Trump did, not World War III like Joe Biden is doing."
