On Thursday, one of Donald Trump's longest serving aides filed to run for Congress. Brian Jack, 36, is seeking to keep Georgia's 3rd District red in light of Republican Rep. Drew Ferguson's retirement, which was announced in December.

Before Jack even filed the necessary papers, the former president made an endorsement of Jack.

"Brian Jack joined my Campaign in 2016, and he has diligently worked by my side for the last 8 years, serving with distinction as my White House Political Director in helping to enact our America First agenda that delivered historic results for the American People," Trump wrote in a lengthy Truth Social post. "Recently, the wonderful Congressman from Brian’s Home District, Drew Ferguson, announced his retirement," he continued. "Brian has been thinking about running to succeed Drew, as he has always sought to accomplish incredible things for Georgia and our Country."

"I encourage Brian, a Fayette County native, to go for it, pursue his dream, and run for Congress," Trump continued, adding that he believed Jack "represents a New Generation of Leadership, and he will be a GREAT Congressman, working closely with me and other Republicans to fix the damage Joe Biden has done to our Country."

He labeled Jack "a man of Loyalty, Honesty, and Integrity," vowing that the first-time politician "will never let the fabulous people of Georgia’s 3rd Congressional District down."

"Should he decide to run, Brian Jack has my Complete and Total Endorsement!"

Sure enough, a short time later it was revealed that Jack had, in fact, filed to run.

As Politico reports, Jack works primarily as an interlocutor between Trump and Capitol Hill and is behind the former president's push to receive endorsements from Republican congressmembers during the 2024 primary elections.

Candidates who receive Trump's support have tended to do well come election time.
