On Sunday, famous author JK Rowling saw Dr. Jordan Peterson come to her defense as she advocates for women's rights amid the trans identity debate.

Peterson had responded to a Saturday thread from Rowling, in which the acclaimed writer wrote on Twitter: "I don't think our politicians have the slightest idea how much anger is building among women from all walks of life at the attempts to threaten and intimidate them out of speaking publicly about their own rights, their own bodies and their own lives."

Rowling linked a Daily Mail article to the leading tweet, in which Conservative MP Crispin Blunt and two other men complained about comments from Surrey Police and Crime Commissioner Lisa Townsend regarding what makes a woman.

Townsend was reprimanded and forced to explain the comments. She has also tweeted the hashtag "I Stand With JK Rowling" in the past.

"Among the thousands of letters and emails I’ve received are disillusioned members of Labour, the Greens, the Lib Dems and the SNP. Women are scared, outraged and angry at the deaf ear turned to their well-founded concerns. But women are organising," wrote Rowling in the thread of tweets.

Rowling continued on to state that a Labour leader "publicly misrepresents equalities law, in yet another indication that the Labour Party can no longer be counted on to defend women’s rights. But I repeat: women are organising across party lines, and their resolve and their anger are growing."

"'I don't think politicians have the slightest idea...' truer words for today's situation have rarely been spoken @jk_rowling," Peterson wrote in response.

Rowling has faced a mountain of liberal backlash for her stance on trans-identifying people, even being excluded from the 20th anniversary reunion honouring two decades after the release of the first film in the fantasy series based on her massively popular book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
