E. Jean Carroll parties with media elites in NYC after $83 million award in Trump defamation case

E. Jean Carroll was honored by a large party hosted by MSNBC's Molly Jong-Fast in New York's Lower East Side Thursday evening after Carroll was awarded $83 million in the defamation lawsuit against former President Donald Trump. Many liberal elites from the media joined in on the glitzy celebration.

"She seemed delighted and vindicated. She was in awe and victorious," one guest reported, according to the Daily Mail. Carroll has pledged to spend the money in the case on "whatever Donald Trump Hates" and told Rachel Maddow in an interview that she would go buy a new wardrobe and buy a penthouse with the whopping $83 million and that she would "absolutely" sue Trump again. 

Long-Fast's media colleague Lawrence O'Donnell was also in attendance as well as former Saturday Night Live producer Marci Klien. New York Times opinion writer Lydia Polgreen and Washington Post writer Sarah Ellison were also there.  

Another guest reportedly told the outlet that Carroll " looked like a hero" and that "it’s great to see women winning the day." 

Former ABC White House correspondent Tara Palmeri was also among the guests at the get-together at the bar.  

One guest suggested that Carroll could "buy the bar" as a result of her new fortune. However, the event has been heavily criticized online as an ill-intended, premature celebration.  

"Watching MSNBC gloat over this it's never been more clear," one user wrote online, according to the outlet. "These people are sick. They are bullies without any personal power, clinging to their job as puppets."
