"Besides misleading the public, they withheld evidence for partisan political reasons that sent people to prison for far more serious crimes than they committed," Musk wrote.

Following Tucker Carlson’s Monday night show in which he unveiled previously unseen footage of the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot, Twitter owner Elon Musk slammed the January 6 committee for "misleading the public" and withholding "evidence for partisan political reasons."

Musk’s comments came in response to clips of US veteran Jacob Chansley, the QAnon Shaman, who entered the Capitol building wearing a horned hat, face paint, and what appeared to be animal pelts.

Chansley, who was sentenced to nearly four years in prison, was seen in the clips being led around by police officers, never stopping Chansley in the building.

"They helped him. They acted as his tour guides," Carlson said.

In response to the revelation, Musk wrote, "This is crazy. The public was misled."

In response to another tweet from State Freedom Caucus Network communications director Greg Price, who stated that the January 6 committee lied about a number of things during their investigation, Musk slammed the committee for withholding evidence.

"Besides misleading the public, they withheld evidence for partisan political reasons that sent people to prison for far more serious crimes than they committed," Musk wrote.

"That is deeply wrong, legally and morally," he added.

Carlson’s Monday night show also revealed that Ray Epps, who testified before the House Select Committee in regards to a text he sent his nephew stating that he was going back to the hotel, lied about his whereabouts, and was seen in footage 30 minutes after the text was sent on the grounds of the Capitol.

"Wow," Musk wrote.

Officer Brian Sicknick, who died in the wake of the riot, with media outlets claiming that he was "attacked" by the rioters and hit in the head with a fire extinguisher, was seen walking Trump supporters out of the Capitol building wearing a helmet, who Carlson described as as "healthy and vigorous."

"Whatever happened to Brian Sicknick was very obviously not the result of violence he suffered at the entrance to the Capitol," Carlson added, noting that "this tape overturns the single most powerful and politically useful lie that Democrats told us about January 6."

Carlson also showed footage refuting claims from Democrats that Sen. Josh Hawley had "fled" the crowd inside the building, but was instead shown to be a part of a group of lawmakers being ushered away by police officers.
