"When will politicians, or at least the intern who runs their account, learn that lying on this platform doesn’t work anymore?"
Elon Musk fact-checked Vice President Kamala Harris following President Joe Biden’s disastrous debate on Thursday night when she claimed Trump would end access to abortion across the United States.
On Sunday, Harris falsely claimed in a tweet, “Donald Trump would ban abortion nationwide,” adding “President Joe Biden and I will do everything in our power to stop him and restore women's reproductive freedom.”
The X CEO replied, “He clearly said he would not do so in the debate.”
He later added in another post, "When will politicians, or at least the intern who runs their account, learn that lying on this platform doesn’t work anymore?"
During CNN’s presidential debate Thursday night, former President Trump said he "will not block" abortion pills or abortion medication if he is elected to another term in office.
After being asked about his stance on abortion and abortion medication during the debate, Trump said, "First of all, the Supreme Court just approved the abortion pill and I agree with their decision to have done that, and I will not block it.”
Trump added, "I put three great Supreme Court justices on the court and they happened to vote in favor of killing Roe v. Wade and moving it back to the states. This is something that everybody wanted. Now the states are working it out." The former president noted that every state is "making their own decisions right now," and that the states controlling the issue was “the vote of the people."
Trump was also deliberate in pointing out, "I believe in the exceptions. I am a person that believes, and frankly, I think it is important to believe in the exceptions. Some people, you have to follow your heart, some people don’t believe in that. But I believe in the exceptions for rape, incest, and the life of the mother. I think it’s very important."
The former president also said Democrats are "radical because they will take the life of a child in the eighth month, the ninth month, and even after birth."
