On Sunday, billionaire X owner Elon Musk met with former President Donald J. Trump in Palm Beach, Florida. A few wealthy Republican donors were also in attendance, according to the New York Times.

The meeting came just days ahead of Trump's sweeping victory on Super Tuesday over GOP challenger Nikki Haley. Donald Trump is poised to move into the general election as the Republican nominee, and his campaign team is working to find additional major donors to help him defeat Democratic President Joe Biden in November.

Musk, one of the world's richest men, has been an outspoken critic of Joe Biden and the Democrat Party. Musk has encouraged people to vote Republican, and recent social media posts suggest that Musk hopes Biden is defeated in November.

It's unclear what the meeting entailed, but the Space X owner claimed that he would not be donating to any candidate running for president.

"Just to be super clear, I am not donating money to either candidate for US President," Musk wrote Wednesday on X.

Over the past year, the billionaire tycoon has been significantly critical of Biden's open border policies, which had created an illegal immigration crisis at the US southern border. This is also a top issue among voters that Biden faces heading into November.

Musk, a registered independent, criticized the Democratic Party in May 2022, stating that after years of voting exclusively for Democrats, he will vote Republican for the first time. During the mid-term elections in Nov. 2022, Musk encouraged his followers to vote for a Republican Congress.
