Shocking new emails surfaced Thursday revealing former FBI Director Louis Freeh donated $100,000 towards a trust for two of President Joe Biden’s grandchildren looking to pursue "very good and profitable matters."
First reported by New York Post, Freeh made the cash donation in April of 2016 and according to the emails he told Hunter Biden that, "I would be delighted to do future work with you."
"Thank you Hunter," Freeh said in an email in July of 2016. "I would be delighted to do future work with you."
"I also spoke to Dad a few weeks ago and would like to explore with him some future work matters," Freeh continued.
"I believe that working together on these (and other legal) matters would be of value, fun and rewarding."
Another email sent to Hunter Biden in 2017 from former FBI Director Freeh, who was also a federal judge, said he had "profitable matters" to discuss.
"I would still like to persuade him (President Biden) to associate with me and FSS—as we have some very good and profitable matters which he could enhance with minimal time."
FSS stands for Freeh Sporkin & Sullivan, where Freeh was a partner at the time, New York Post reports.
Freeh followed up with Hunter Biden through email a month later and mentioned his large contribution to Hunter Biden’s late brother, Beau Biden’s, trust for his two kids.
"As you know, our family foundation made a $100K contribution to Hallie’s children’s trust last year," Freeh wrote on April 24, 2017.
Hallie is the widow of late Beau Biden and had an affair with his Beau’s brother, Hunter Biden, while he was still married.
Although Freeh mentioned that his accountants, “now advise that since the grant did not go to a 501(c) organization, it was not a proper foundation gift” and he planned to send "a new $100k gift" and asked the trust "reimburse the foundation by paying it $100k."
"I can handle this with the lawyers (see attached) but wanted to let you know first before doing anything-so it’s clear what we’re trying to do," he added. "Sorry for the extra burden."
Hunter Biden responded and said, "Thanks so much and of course no burden at all. Speak to you soon."
According to the New York Post, the emails failed to show whether Freeh did businesses with President Biden but they showed business between Freeh and Hunter.
Hunter Biden referred Romanian real estate tycoon, Gabriel “Puiu” Popoviciu, as a client to Freeh in 2016.
"I wanted to thank you again for referring Gabriel to us and we have
finalized an attorney letter of engagement with him," Freeh wrote in 2016.
"I will meet him in Paris Sunday and then we’ll deploy to Bucharest and
get to work."
"FYI, I have had conversations with the head of the FBI’s Criminal Division and there is a sincere Bureau interest in meeting and debriefing Gabriel on other matters he may be willing to discuss," Freeh reported.
However, Popoviciu was convicted before the Romanian Court of Appeals and sentenced to seven years in prison, Freeh said in a press release after he conducted an independent review of Popoviciu’s conviction.
The emails between Freeh and Hunter were stored on a water-damaged laptop and dropped off at a repair shop in Wilmington, Delaware in 2019 but the owner said no one came to retrieve it, according to the New York Post.
John Paul MacIsaac, the owner of the repair shop, provided the laptop’s hard drive to the Post which revealed shocking information including Hunter Biden’s business dealings with China and the Ukraine.
The FBI seized the laptop in December of 2019.
According to Hunter Biden, his lawyers are cooperating with the FBI’s investigation.
