Oregon medical licensing records confirm that Dr. May Lau holds an active state license and is affiliated with OHSU Pediatrics Adolescent Medicine.
Lau surrendered her license in October 2025 shortly after Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton secured a Rule 11 agreement with Lau that barred her from practicing medicine in Texas during litigation. The lawsuit for violating state law remains ongoing.
"Doctors who permanently hurt kids by giving them experimental drugs are nothing more than disturbed left-wing activists who have no business being in the medical field," Paxton said in a press release at the time. "May Lau has done untold damage to children, both physically and psychologically, and the surrendering of her Texas medical license is a major victory for our state."
Oregon medical licensing records confirm that Dr. May Lau holds an active state license and is affiliated with OHSU Pediatrics Adolescent Medicine. The license took effect on January 1, 2026.

Additionally, Dr. Lau's LinkedIn profile lists OHSU as her current employer.

The state of Texas' legal action against Dr. Lau is in response to a 2023 state law that prohibits medical providers from offering "gender transition" medical interventions such as surgeries, puberty blockers, and cross-sex hormones to minors. The lawsuit alleges that Lau violated the law by providing such interventions to at least 21 minors.
Critics have contended that laws cracking down on sex change procedures for minors impede essential medical care, while advocates maintain that they safeguard children from experimental and irreversible interventions.
The state of Oregon sued the Trump administration over the president's executive order prohibiting hospitals from offering sex change surgeries for minors. Additionally, recent reports state that Oregon has the highest number of minors who identify as transgender and have received gender transition procedures.
