She was "really impressed and grateful to observe what has been happening,"
Calling the encampment a “peaceful demonstration” in documents obtained via a public disclosure request by The Ari Hoffman Show on Talk Radio 570 KVI, Trudeau urged UW President Ana Mari Cauce and Director of State Relations Joe Dacca to allow the occupation of the university’s Quad to continue. Her comments came despite growing concerns over safety and rising antisemitism on campus from the so-called “Gaza Solidarity Encampment.”
In her letter, Trudeau praised the protesters, comparing their actions to historic civil rights movements and urging UW administrators to "prioritize student rights and safety as they negotiate with you to detach from corporations complicit in devaluing and destroying sacred life in Gaza and now in Rafah.” She framed the demonstrations as part of a noble American tradition of activism, ignoring the widespread intimidation of Jewish students and the presence of radical activists, sometimes violent, agitators.
Her remarks came the day after Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk delivered a speech on campus. That event was marred by a violent confrontation involving Antifa militants dressed in black bloc who assaulted pro-Israel students as well as journalist Jonathan Choe and his security guard.
Shortly after Kirk’s appearance, viral footage emerged showing Jewish students being physically blocked by encampment members from moving freely on campus—a chilling echo of discrimination that many in the Jewish community say feels like a return to darker periods of history. Yet Trudeau expressed no concern for these students. Instead, she thanked UW officials for their handling of the protest, added that she was "really impressed and grateful to observe what has been happening," and lamented that other universities were dismantling similar encampments.
Trudeau’s defense of the encampment is consistent with her long and troubling history of antisemitism. She previously posted anti-Israel content and, following public scrutiny, deleted her Twitter/X account—possibly in violation of the law. Her feed had been filled with support for Gaza, but showed no calls for the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas.

In a more recent controversy, Trudeau rescinded her endorsement of fellow progressive State Sen. Emily Randall in her congressional bid after Randall fired a staffer for liking pro-Hamas content online.
From 2014 to 2016, Trudeau worked as an aide to Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), who has publicly labeled Israel a “racist state.” Trudeau has also been prominently featured alongside antisemitic figures affiliated with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)—a group with known ties to Hamas, as exposed in the Department of Justice’s Holy Land Foundation trial, the largest terror trial in US history, where CAIR was described as an unindicted co-conspirator. She has shared platforms with Linda Sarsour, who was removed from the Women’s March for antisemitism, and endorsed Imraan Siddiqi, CAIR-Washington’s Executive Director, even after his Hamas rhetoric was exposed.
Trudeau's network includes Bothell Deputy Mayor Rami Al-Kabra, whose social media activity is saturated with antisemitic content. He skirmished with Israelis during a protest on Oct 7, 2023, and played a key role in promoting the Washington State Democratic Party’s controversial 2024 platform, which many have condemned as antisemitic.
She is also allied with Han Tran, a Northshore School Board member and appointee to Washington’s Human Rights Commission by Gov. Jay Inslee, who has espoused genocidal rhetoric against Jews since Hamas’ October 7th attacks.
