The dog had no history of acting aggressively towards people but had shown such behavior towards dogs.
They were informed of a dog attack taking place in the Dover Township. Sheriff Orvis L Cambell said that during the initial 911 call, there was nobody speaking on the other line.
When dispatchers called the number back, a mother said that the family pit bull had killed their 1-year-old daughter, who was identified as Blakely Blosser. The 1-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her mother was walking into the home with her daughter when the dog attacked the child. The mother also had defensive wounds on her from trying to prevent the attack. “It was about as terrible of an ordeal as we’ve come across in a long time," Campbell said.
The child had severe dog bits to her face and throat in the incident, and her mother said that the dog had no history of acting aggressively towards people but had shown such behavior towards dogs.
“While it had shown had a couple of incidents of aggression towards other dogs that had not towards the people, they didn’t have any sign of this," Campbell explained. The father, who was not at the house when his daughter was killed, later euthanized the dog.
Charges are not expected in the case; however, the incident will still be reviewed by prosecutors.

Tragic. Prayers for the family to make it through this. Rest in peace, precious little one.
