"The USC Football team could all use our support during this difficult time."
Social Media users posted fake condolences for University of Southern California head football coach Lincoln Riley after President Joe Biden mistakenly said his name when speaking about slain University of Georgia student Laken Riley.
In a post on X, Journalist Ann Vandersteel said, "BREAKING: Biden informs former NFL player Lincoln Riley's shocked parents that he has died at the hands of an illegal."
"LINCOLN Riley is still very much alive," she clarified. "LAKEN Riley is dead, murdered by one of Biden's ILLEGALS."
The NFL memes posted pictures of the USC coach and a caption that said, "Still can’t believe he’s gone" and a broken heart emoji.
The Woke Messiah wrote, "I hope that everyone is thinking about @LincolnRiley after Joe Biden just announced during the SOTU that he was recently killed by an illegal immigrant." The account added, "The USC Football team could all use our support during this difficult time."
Another user, Chance McClain said, "Hey @LincolnRiley checking on ya man I was listening to the state of the union and…it didn’t sound good."
During the State of the Union address on Thursday, President Biden was pressed by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green (R-GA) to acknowledge the 22-year-old Laken Riley, who was killed last month by Venezuelan illegal immigrant Jose Ibarra.
Green shouted "Say her name!" from the audience.
Biden finally gave in. He grabbed a button from the podium and said, "Lincoln Riley." He added, "Lincoln Riley, an innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal.”
On Friday, Riley's mother spoke out for the first time since her death to criticize the president. "Biden does not even KNOW my child's name - it (sic) pathetic!" wrote Allyson Phillips on Facebook in response to a comment. "If you are going to say her name (even when forced to do so) at least say the right name!"
Several Democrats condemned President Biden's use of the word "illegal" rather than acknowledging the use of the wrong name, or the fact that she was murdered.
