"F*ck the police. We will burn it down and take what's ours in the streets. That isn’t an empty threat it’s a promise.”
A woman leading the chants, dressed in hijab and traditional dress, urged these chants, which calls for an end to Israel entirely.
While some of the “Stop The Debate” activists gathered outside the building before the event and while the debate was in progress, others wrapped in keffiyehs marched on the building calling for an “intifada,” a violent uprising against Jews, and chanting other antisemitic slogans such as “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” Freedom TV News were on the scene in Atlanta.
One speaker told the crowd, "F*ck the police. We will burn it down and take what's ours in the streets. That isn’t an empty threat it’s a promise.” She also told the crowd that the time for peaceful protests was over and called for a “resistance” like the “militants” in Gaza, terms used by Hamas to describe the Oct. 7 attacks on Israel.
Police mobilized with non-lethal munitions to stop the activists from getting too close to the debate.
Though the CNN moderators did not bring up antisemitism and the ongoing protests, Israel’s war against Palestinian terrorists was discussed during the debate.
CNN host Dana Bash asked the candidates what could be done to end the conflict in Gaza, to which Biden, after struggling, said, “The only one who wants the war to continue is Hamas,” noting that the terrorists had rejected his proposal for a hostage-ceasefire deal accepted by Israel, the US and the UN.
Biden also noted how he stopped a shipment of weaponry to Israel but then claimed, “We’re providing Israel with all the weapons they need and when they need them,” and added that Hamas “should be eliminated.”
Biden also referenced Iran launching hundreds of missiles and kamikaze drones at the Jewish state boasting, “We saved Israel. We are the biggest producer of support for Israel of anyone in the world.”
Trump said Hamas never would have attacked Israel if he were still the president and said that the US should let Israel “finish the job.”
Trump also said of the anti-Israel protestors' feelings towards Biden, “He’s become like a Palestinian, but they don’t like him because he’s a very bad Palestinian. He’s a weak one.”
