The raid early on Sunday morning, in which drugs and weapons were seized, saw 114 illegal immigrants detained by authorities. The location is frequented by MS-13 gang members, officials have said, according to the New York Post.
Authorities were seen on video, posted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), breaking into the large, unbranded building as people scattered from the scene. Many were wearing outfits similar to what you would see at other nightclubs. People who tried to escape were stopped by authorities as they attempted to flee.
“This is the police with a search warrant demanding entry. Exit the front door one at a time with nothing in your hands, held high above your head,” an agent said. Authorities were then seen instructing many of the nightclub attendees in Spanish. The raid also used undercover service members, with over a dozen being inside the club during the raid on Sunday morning.
“What was happening inside was significant drug trafficking, prostitution, crimes of violence. We seized a number of guns in there. We had active-duty service members who were running security at the club and involved in some of these crimes,” Jonathan C. Pullen, the DEA Rocky Mountain Division Special Agent in Charge, said of the raid.
Pink cocaine, known as "tusi," as well as cocaine, were found at the scene. Two people who were taken into custody during the raid also had outstanding arrest warrants, officials said.
“200 people were inside – at least 114 in the U.S. illegally," the DEA wrote in a caption with video of the raid.
Attorney General Pam Bondi addressed the raid, saying that over the course of the Biden administration, there were 170 emergency calls placed regarding the one club alone. She added that the Biden administration did not address the situation, but that over the weekend, the FBI, DEA, ICE, and other federal law enforcement agencies carried out the raid to arrest the 115 illegal immigrants.
