"The reason I felt unsafe was due to the potentiality of … progressing in his behavior."
Olivia Henderson, 23, allegedly recorded the male customer while he was lying naked on his couch in his home. She then filed a police report, claiming that him being naked in his own home was somehow sexual harassment. Authorities apparently did not believe the claim of sexual harassment and later had her arrested for posting the footage on social media which was shared with millions of people on TikTok. She was charged with first-degree dissemination of an unlawful surveillance image and second-degree unlawful surveillance.
According to NewsChannel 9, court documents said that Henderson shot "degrading" video of the victim by sharing “intimate parts of such person at a place and time when such person has a reasonable expectation of privacy, without such person’s knowledge or consent."
In the video posted to social media, Henderson suggested that the man had intentionally exposed himself to her. The video was viewed over 30 million times before it was taken off the social media platform. When she filed a police report, Henderson told authorities that DoorDash requires workers to take a photo of the food when it is placed on the doorstep and added that she usually takes a video. Henderson also claimed that she filed the report out of concern for other female drivers to not have to experience.
“The reason I felt unsafe was due to the potentiality of … progressing in his behavior,” Henderson claimed, per Oswego County News Now. “More specifically, if he did this to me, and caused me to feel this way, I thought that he may do something worse to the next delivery driver.”
After she filed the report, DoorDash also banned the customer as well as the driver. DoorDash said in a statement, “Posting a video of a customer in their home, and disclosing their personal details publicly, is a clear violation of our policies. That is the sole reason that this Dasher’s account was deactivated, along with the customer’s, while we investigated.”
When she appeared outside of court, she did not give comments to reporters and is slated to return to court in January. Henderson's father covered her face as she walked to the car. Henderson was ordered to be released without bail after an agreement was reached with the prosecution.
