Biden posted a video on May 25, 2020 from his time as Vice president containing a photo of himself over a grave in the cemetery and the next photo that appears states, "Text JOE to 30330" and "paid for by Biden for President."
It has been revealed that Joe Biden used pictures from what appears to be Section 60 of Arlington National Cemetery in a campaign advertisement that he posted on X in May 2020 during the last presidential election. This comes as media reports have launched accusations at Donald Trump for his team taking photos and video at Section 60 of the cemetery where some of the Gold Star families of the botched Afghanistan withdrawal met on the Abbey Gate bombing's third anniversary to honor their children.
Biden posted a video on May 25, 2020, containing a photo of himself over a grave in the cemetery with the next slide stating, "Text JOE to 30330" and "paid for by Biden for President." The cemetery said in a statement following Trump's visit, "Federal law prohibits political campaign or election-related activities within Army National Military Cemeteries, to include photographers, content creators or any other persons attending for purposes or in direct support of a partisan political candidate’s campaign."
The picture in the video is dated from May 31, 2010, when Biden was vice president. The family members of those soldiers who died at the Abbey Gate bombing who were present at the Monday ceremony said that they invited Trump as well as his designated media team to take the photos.
Section 60 is an area that is largely designated for US veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan that have passed away and is a solemn place where families visit, per the Arlington Cemetery website.
When the family members of deceased Sgt. Nichole Gee and Staff Sgt. Taylor Hoover spoke to The Post Millennial, they relayed that they had requested and had agreed with Arlington that Trump’s team would be able to provide the photography inside Section 60 on Monday.
A statement from the Army about the events said, "Participants in the August 26th ceremony and the subsequent Section 60 visit were made aware of federal laws, Army regulations and DoD policies, which clearly prohibit political activities on cemetery grounds."
