The late conservative talk radio host, Rush Limbaugh, predicted in one of his final episodes that former President Donald Trump would be indicted by the Democrats in order to stop his election.

Before Limbaugh's passing in 2021, Limbaugh said that the Democrats "desperately want Trump gone, and I know that they desperately want it codified that Trump cannot run again."

The conservative figure continued, saying that grassroots movement behind the 45th President would not be stopped as a force in American politics.

"They can’t separate you from Trump. And more importantly, they can’t separate you from the ideas," Limbaugh went on speaking to his viewers. "If they somehow make Trump look bad, make Trump look like a reprobate, embarrass you, they can’t do it because you came before Trump."

The indictment on Tuesday against Trump's actions following the 2020 election is the second federal indictment from Special Counsel Jack Smith. It charged him with four counts, including conspiracy to fraud the US, conspiracy to obstruct official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights. Trump has also been indicted in New York on over 30 founds of falsifying business records.

Trump issued a statement ahead of this second federal indictment on Truth Social questioning why the DOJ is "putting out another fake indictment the day after the crooked Joe Biden SCANDAL, one of the biggest in American history, broke out in the halls of Congress??? A Nation in decline!"

Limbaugh told his viewers, bringing up vote counts from 2020 as evidence, with "Trump’s 75 million, 80 million votes... I’m going to tell you: you’re not going anywhere. Even if Trump does, you’re not.”

Questions surrounding the politicization of the DOJ have come up as many GOP allies have pointed out that Hillary Clinton never faced prosecution with regard to her email server scandal involving classified documents. Trump, in a similar situation, was indicted on holding classified documents in Mar-a-Lago.
