A former Seattle middle school special education teacher has been arrested for rape after pleading guilty to previous sex crimes. He allegedly texted his victim that he went to Seattle to get a young "sex slave."
Darren Hunter, 52, was arrested at his home on July 30 by the Chelan County Sheriff's Office. According to a news release released by the Chelan Country Sheriff's Office, Hunter raped and assaulted a woman at his residence in Chelan. He had been a teacher at Madison Middle School in 2022.
The woman, unidentified in court documents, met with Hunter over at his house to get drugs from him. He then raped and assaulted her.
Further details show that he texted a victim that he went to Seattle to kidnap a teenage girl to have her as a "sex slave." The victim said Hunter also forced her to watch "black market" pornography.
He was booked into Chelan County Regional Justice Center and arrested on suspicions of first-degree rape and second-degree assault. Police also found towels with bloody fluids on them and a one-piece bathing suit designed for a young girl at his home.
Hunter committed previous sex crimes in Aug. 2021 and was charged with rape in the third degree in Feb. 2022, which was lessened to the fourth degree. He pled guilty to a lesser charge of fourth-degree assault with sexual motivation when he was first arraigned in the 2021 crime.
Hunter was placed on administrative leave at the school he taught at in Sept. 2022 when the school district finally found out he had been suspected of rape for months.
The previous incident involved a different woman, referred to as TA in court documents. They had met on a dating app and were meeting up at Hunter’s house when things got out of hand.
After Hunter “grabbed TA by the neck and squeezed, strangling her,” he let go and spat in her face. Hunter "then began to insert his penis into TA's anus. TA told him, 'No, that's not going to work.' Daren responded, 'it's fine.' TA told him, 'It hurts, no it's not, no ... that won't work.'"
He went back and forth between anal and vaginal sex after TA had repeatedly said not to.
At the time of the previous report, Hunter’s information had remained on the school’s website despite having learned about the accusations. He had been earning $113,000 in addition to benefits.
