A man has been arrested for allegedly threatening to kill Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard as well as her family. This comes on the heels of the arrest of a teenager in Wisconsin who has been charged for killing his parents in an alleged attempt to assassinate President Donald Trump.

According to a press release from the Department of Justice, Aliakbar Mohammad Amin, 24, was arrested for sending multiple text messages threatening Gabbard as well as her husband between March 29 and April 1, 2025. The case is being investigated by the FBI and Amin has been charged with transmitting interstate threats.

"You and your family are going to die soon ... I will personally do the job if necessary," a text allegedly from Amin to Gabbard's husband stated. Another message said, "Death to America means death to America literally, Tulsi is living on borrowed time."

According to screenshots of the texts included in the arrest affidavit, another message said, "Prepare to die, you Tusi, and everyone you hold dear. America will burn."

The suspect also allegedly posted a photo of Gabbard with her husband with someone holding a gun up to the photo of the couple. When authorities searched Amin's home, they found a firearm.

Another text said, “The home you two own … is a legitimate target and will be hit at a time and place of our choosing."

Gabbard reacted to the arrest of Amin, writing on X, "Thank you @FBI, @USMarshalsHQ, and local law enforcement for your service and dedication in apprehending this radicalized, dangerous criminal who repeatedly threatened the lives of me, my family, and @realDonaldTrump. Thank you for your tireless work every day keeping the American people safe."
