As President Biden shows his hand on the issue of gun control, many governors have stated their intentions to fight back, saying that they will take action to uphold the Second Amendment.
In a 24-hour period from Thursday to Friday, no less than five governors across the country said that they would fight tooth and nail against any federal overreach that would impede American citizens' right to bare arms within the borders of their respective states.
Kristi Noem in South Dakota said that Biden's claims that his gun control initiatives would not impeded the Second Amendment are false. She opposes the so-called "ref flag" laws, which would allow people to report to the court those who they believe should not obtain guns.
Wyoming's Governor Mark Gordon had similar sentiments, and went further, saying that his state has passed a bill which would prevent financial institutions from "discriminating against firearms businesses engaged in lawful commerce."
Greg Abbott, governor of Texas, said that "Biden is threatening our 2nd Amendment rights" and announced plans to "get legislation making TX a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary State passed and to my desk for signing."
"Idaho will not stand for President Biden’s unilateral actions to erode your Second Amendment rights," Brad Little said.
And Mike Dunleavy, in Alaska, said that "These actions won't save lives or stop criminals, but they will disarm law abiding citizens. Alaska is a Second Amendment sanctuary state, and we will be evaluating our options."
