Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) called for a regime change in Iran after Israel launched air strikes against the country's regime leaders over the weekend, which led to Iran launching a barrage of missiles into Israel.

Fine was asked about President Donald Trump's reported refusal to assassinate Iran's supreme leader by CNN anchor Sara Sidner. "President Trump has a lot more information on the situation than I do as a member of Congress, and I trust his judgment implicitly. What I think we need to be doing is taking out Iran's nuclear capabilities," Fine said.

"And I hope that in the process of that, the Iranian people, who are a great people, will rise up and make Persia great again. I think that's the right outcome, is that the people in Iran settle their own government issues on their own."

Over the weekend, it was reported that President Donald Trump has no plans to directly enter a war with Iran or join with Israel to take out Iran's nuclear capabilities. Additionally, it was reported by Axios that Trump had ruled out an Israeli assassination plan on Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Trump has said that peace cannot be reached if Iran is able to obtain a nuclear weapon, but has also maintained a distance from Israel's operations to attack Iran despite the American ally asking for the US to get directly involved. He has also signaled that if Iran makes a deal with America, they may be able to avoid more "brutal" attacks from Israel.

"Two months ago I gave Iran a 60 day ultimatum to 'make a deal.' They should have done it! Today is day 61. I told them what to do, but they just couldn’t get there. Now they have, perhaps, a second chance!" Trump said in a post to Truth Social over the weekend.
